The TIMETABLE, a new business incubator for the young people of Guangdong and the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions (SAR) was launched in the Nansha district of Guangzhou on July 15.
Covering an area of 8200 square meters, the incubator offers services such as co-work spaces, library, gym, café and canteen. During the launch ceremony, the TIMETABLE incubator signed cooperative agreement with and the very first teams of start-up projects and business partners including Hong Kong Guangdong Youth Association and HKUST Fok Ying Tung Research Institute.
According to Dong Ke, Executive Chief of the Nansha district government, the district now has 8 entrepreneurial incubators and has successfully attracted 300 start-up projects, 240 of which are directed by Hong Kong and Macao entrepreneurs. The district has also put forward various incentive policies and measures to co-recognize the different professional certificates of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao so that Hong Kong and Macao entrepreneurs could start their businesses much easier. To support Hong Kong and Macao youths in employment, Nansha provides internship positions in various business sectors and has attracted about 1,800 Hong Kong and Macao students to participate over the past five years.
In addition, Nansha launched the first batch of 22 apartments for Hong Kong and Macao entrepreneurs on the same day. These apartments are about 28.98—51.76 square meters. 16 apartments are for long-term lease above 1 month while the other 6 are available for short-term leases under 1 month. The apartments are all equipped withair conditioning, TV, washing machine, refrigerator, induction cooker, high-speed Internet, gym, kitchen, and there is also a reading room.
Representatives of Guangzhou government, Nansha district government, base founders, and youth entrepreneurs participated in the launching ceremony.
