From July 1 to August 30, Guangzhou Customs supervised approximately 3.18 million cross-border passengers and 20,000 flights at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, representing increases of 14% and 10%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

As one of China's top three international aviation hubs, the airport offers connections to more than 230 domestic and international destinations, with around 2,300 weekly international flights covering a global network.

Boosted by the summer holiday travel boom, the airport handled a daily average of over 52,000 passengers during this peak season, an increase of 8% from the pre-summer period. The highest single-day traffic reached 57,000.

Popular short-haul destinations included Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore, all within a four-hour flight duration.

The surge in travel also led airlines to launch new routes and increase frequencies on existing flights, including Guangzhou to London, Nairobi, Phuket, and Sabah. The international flight occupancy rates exceeded 80% during this holiday.
