Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is nearing completion of its new Terminal 3 (T3), with operations set to begin in six months. This launch will transform the airport into a hub with “three terminals and five runways,” increasing its annual capacity to over 120 million passengers and 3.8 million tonnes of cargo.

The new terminal covers 683,000 square meters, and its design—shaped like a blooming flower—reflects Guangzhou's identity as the “Flower City.”

Beyond aviation, T3 is designed for integrated transport. It connects to six high-speed rail lines, three intercity routes, and Metro Line 22, allowing access to downtown Guangzhou in 20 minutes and key Greater Bay Area cities in 30.

Last year, the airport ranked among the world's top 10 busiest airports, recording 512,000 aircraft movements and handling 2.4 million tonnes of cargo—an increase of 16.9% year-on-year, according to Airports Council International.

The terminal will also feature over 12,000 square meters of retail space, including 120 shops and restaurants. Highlights include a 2,800 m2 duty-free zone, an 8,900 m2 shopping corridor, and a 3,600 m2 dining area.
