On November 15, the 2nd Global Consumer Conference kicked off in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong Province, gathering guests from government and enterprises to discuss and shape the future of consumer trends and brand development.

Guangzhou, one of China's international consumption center cities, hosts the 2024 Guangzhou Global Consumption Month from November 1 through the end of the year. As a supporting event of the Consumption Month, the conference, led by the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau and the People's Government of Haizhu District of Guangzhou Municipality, serves as a platform for in-depth analysis and exchange of ideas among officials and industry elites. Tan Ping, Vice Mayor of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government; Wei Min, Director of the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau; Chen Qiang, Chairman of the GZCCI Group; along with representatives from Fortune Global 500, Fortune China 500, unicorn companies, etc., attended the conference.

According to Chen Yanchuan, Deputy Director-General of the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, Guangzhou's total retail sales of consumer goods have achieved positive growth since the third quarter of this year. Driven by the trade-in policy, the consumer market has become more active, with a number of well-known brand dealers settling in Guangzhou. In the future, Guangzhou will make full use of the location advantages of Haizhu District and high-quality commercial assets to foster a comprehensive consumption pattern. 

The highlight of the conference was the round-table discussions focusing on "Sustainable Innovation of the Superbrand" and "Brand's Innovation and Iteration Based on Localization". Business leaders from various sectors, including Louis Vuitton Mo?t Hennessy (LVMH), KEF UK, L Catterton, etc., shared their insights on the relationship between brands and innovation, as well as how Guangzhou builds brands through innovation.

Meanwhile, three new landmark asset brands in Guangzhou were launched at the conference: Greater Bay Area Financial Center, Pazhou Center, and East Tower of Guangzhou International Media Tower. They are set to facilitate the upgrade and transformation of Guangzhou's consumer industry and promote Guangzhou's high-quality development.
