On January 22, the second session of the 13th Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) commenced in Guangzhou.

Lin Keqing, chairman of the CPPCC Guangdong Committee, delivered a work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee. According to Lin, over the past year, Guangdong CPPCC has received 998 proposals, all of which have been ultimately filed and replied to.

As indicated by Lin, Guangdong CPPCC has stuck to the whole-process people's democracy, effectively used various ways of political consultation, and made proposals on the province's high-quality development and formation of new advantages in advancing Chinese modernization.

During the past year, Guangdong CPPCC members have continued to submit proposals on advancing the major platform construction of Hengqin, Qianhai, Nansha, Hetao, and other areas, as well as promoting the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, helping boost the government's introducing policies and measures to support the development of the service industry in the GBA and improve the business environment.

Lin indicated that last year, Guangdong CPPCC members made 110 proposals to promote the development of the manufacturing industry, focusing on fields such as artificial intelligence and biomedicine.

Additionally, Guangdong CPPCC paid great attention to the coordinated development of urban and rural areas, listing over 100 proposals for High-Quality Development Projects for Guangdong Counties, Towns, and Villages.

To aid the province's development in 2024, Guangdong CPPCC will continue to exercise its role as a fully functional political advisory body.
